Do you offer demo DVDs for potential clients to look at?
We ask that you preview our online videos. During our consultations we can show sample DVD cases and DVD menus and answer any questions about our productions.
Do you have liability insurance?
Tell me more about what what's on the final DVD.
Your DVD menu includes buttons for the full, edited ceremony, first dance, and toasts, as well as your FILM and any other edited pieces that you might have in your package like the Film Trailer. The film length for our most popular packages range from a 8- to 12-minute Simple Gift Highlight Film to our 15- to 25-minute Sweet Spirit Wedding Film. We also offer special features like a Love Story Film that can be shown at the reception and a Save-the-Date film to send to their guests via online.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a dimly lit event?
We do our best to work without added lights when we can, but we bring camera lights for optimal filming in very low-light receptions and use them with discretion.
How many filmmakers do you work with?
Our Sweet Spirit Film includes two or more filmmakers. Our Simple Gift Film has only one filmmaker. We can add more personnel based on the specifics of your event.
Can we meet the filmmaker(s) before the event?
We love to meet our clients before the event. We've found that the more of a relationship we have with the clients, the better the final product will be.
Do you have a studio?
No, as of August 1, 2016 our studio location in River Oaks will be closed. We are looking forward to opening another studio location in the future. But for right now we can meet you for lunch or coffee at a convenient location. Sometimes we can meet you at your wedding venue which helps pre-visualize the wedding day and details on what we can offer with our wedding day videography coverage.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
There are companies that hire out, but we do not. For our major packages, Sandy or Janet will always be the primary filmmaker.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
No, we only book one wedding a day.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring for a wedding?
We have multiple cameras, tripods, audio, and lighting gear. Our new, smaller HD/DSLR cameras are very unobtrusive. We are very discreet about placing the equipment during the ceremony and reception.
Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Do you take a break to eat?
We request having a vendor meal provided for us at the same time the bride and groom are eating. It is also an advantage having us seated in the same room as the bride and groom so that there is no possibility of missing an unexpected special moment such as an toast or dance.
Do you sell unedited or raw footage?
Yes, you can purchase all the unedited footage.
How long does it take to get the final video?
Depends on the time of the year, but it's usually 2 to 3 months.
Why would we need more than one filmmaker?
Just like a motion picture provides different perspectives and angles, we can tell your story better with two or more filmmakers. A second or third camera allows us to get shots like a dramatic wide-angle balcony view of your first dance.
Why should we consider Sweet Spirit Productions our event?
There are many reasons to consider our team, but in a nutshell, we are a team of filmmakers who love telling people's story through motion pictures and love what we do!
How do we book with you?
You can call us directly and we would be happy to set-up a consultation. Once you make a decision, we require $500 to reserve the date and the remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding date. Payment options are available and the balance must be paid in full before we deliver your film. See the next question.
What are the payment plan options?
Yes, we can offer payment plans if our standard terms don't work with your wedding plans.
One option is at least 75% is due 2 weeks before the wedding and the remaining can be paid after the wedding day. And we can arrange other options if you need. Note: We cannot send the product until final balance is paid off.
Will you direct us or have us say certain things while filming?
The essence of our films is capturing the raw moments as they unfold. We never ask a couple to say certain things to the camera or do certain actions if you don’t want to. Things we’ve had couples volunteer to do in the past are hold hands, kiss your partner, walk, run and jump. We keep it fun and simple.
Do you mic the groom?
Yes, we mic the Groom and the Officiant with WAV recorders to ensure the vows are captured. We also place a recorder next to the trio, quartet or piano player if you have one. We also plug into the DJs equipment as an extra precaution. Audio is half of the project so we make sure we have it covered.
Do you offer discounts?
We offer incentive discounts and we offer Military Discounts and we love Teachers so they usually get a discount, contact us for more information.
